In the verge of reviving my blog, I plan on reminiscing the local and overseas trips I have made for the past year. First stop, let’s go to Malaysia. 🙂
Me and my friends, who have officially tagged ourselves as the Piso Fare Gang (or PFG, since we are always on the lookout for Cebu Pacific’s promo fares :P) had our first international tour together in the land of chendol and the Petronas Towers.
It was evening when we left Manila.
Some of us coming from work (I came from the house since I just packed my bags the morning of the day we leave! x_x) Tired as we were, we plan sleeping on the plane for the 3-hour trip. 🙂 And we did… NOT.
We arrived KLCCT a few hours after midnight. The streets are quiet already and there are few people around. We hurried ourselves to the hotel for an early morning trip to Melakka.
Since there are many of us in the group., we decided to commute; and in every trip, the goal is to save as much as possible so we have more money to buy presents for the family and friends back home. ^^ We almost got lost while trying to find the double-deck bus (which we sadly missed) to get to the bus station to go to Melakka. Due to this epic fail, we took the cab instead.
It was an hour and a half or two ride to Melakka. Being the sleepyhead that I am, I tried getting some snooze on the way. 😛 Then we were here!
I love old sceneries. Melakka is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because it has preserved a part of history of the 15th century Malaysia as it was influenced by European colonies in the past.
Too funny, though. In Malaysia, we are (most of the time) immediately recognized as Filipinos because (get ready for this) of the soap opera Pangako Sa’yo. The people of Melakka keep asking us about and identifying us as Angelo, Yna, Amor, etc. LOL. Filipino dramas have also made its way to the hearts of our neighboring countries. 🙂
After enjoying the scenery, we head off to Jonker Street for lunch and refreshments and more sight-seeing adventures. 🙂
We got back from Melakka to Central Market after our walking tour. As usual, it’s commuting time once again. It’s fun doing this since it’s a weekday and we get to see kids from school, people coming from work, and other busy stuff going around (in contrast to what we have seen during our arrival in KL. Hehe.)
This is the time for us to hunt for gifts for people in Manila. LOL
Then dinner time!
Lastly, who would miss the Petronas Twin Towers? We went to Suria to get ourselves some Beryl’s. It rained. But we cannot miss having some photo ops even if it made us dripping wet.
Teehee. It was fun indeed (even if we looked wasted)!
Malaysia Day 2 – Coming up! (Errr… Date still to be determined. Hehehe.)
